Bioshock infinite bird or cage pendant8/31/2023 ![]() ![]() Those are some of my thoughts on the pendants you can give to her and their symbolic significance to me. This leads me to view the booker I'm currently playing as ultimately fixated on the past, deterministically accepting of what is rather than trying to bring about what ought to be. I feel like I chose to view her as grounded to her original destiny, rather than as a liberated bird, free to alter the course of her own life. I made up the model, and left it to her to paint. This thought occured to me sometime after I had already chosen the Cage pendant for her and I was struck with a slight feeling of guilt upon realizing this. The bird pendant is a hopeful, optimistic representation of what Elizabeth could be. Requirements The player will have to fend off the Vox Populi, until The Hand of the Prophet reaches Monument Island. The Achievement is worth 25 Gamerscore and the Trophy is bronze. However I think the bird pendant is meant to represent what Elizabeth can and ultimately should be: Free to flourish and spread the joy of her purity to the rest of the world. The Bird or The Cage is a secret Achievement/Trophy in BioShock Infinite. I think that is what the cage pendant represents and initially that is why I chose it for her over the bird. This is her personification before the game starts and before we free her from her imprisonment. She is pure by her very nature and is kept in bondage by forces much more morally corrupt than she is. ![]() She was sheltered from the surrounding world against her will and as a result she took on a coveted sort of persona in my mind. The necklace does play into the game later, but it doesn't actually change your overall experience or set you on a different path. Choice, divergent paths, freedom and entrapment are running themes of Bioshock Infinite, and this is an extension of that idea, inviting you to make a decision that you don't get to see the results of. The honest truth is that it doesn't really matter, at least not in terms of gameplay, with more of a symbolic impact than anything mechanical.
